WHAT WE'RE GRATEFUL FOR
November is one of our favorite times of the year. Not only do we get to watch football, see the colors of the leaves change, and eat pumpkin desserts, but we also get to reflect upon just how grateful we are to have a home in this community. Our team spends the beginning of each day asking each other this question and praying for the shift ahead.
So, what are we grateful for this year? We couldn't have asked for a better 2021. We've gotten to announce and prepare for a move to a larger office in West Des Moines. We've grown to 30 staff members (including seven doctors!) and continue to love serving together. Most of all, we've heard countless stories of pain relief, healing, and hope in West Des Moines IA found in our office! Thank you for being part of such an awesome year.
This month, look forward to one of our favorite Vero traditions. To show our gratitude for the joy and positivity you bring to our office, we're giving each family represented at Vero a pumpkin pie. Don't miss out! We'll hand them out November 22 - 24 and will be closed on November 25 and 26 for the holiday. On behalf of our entire team, Happy Thanksgiving!
Vero Health Center Takes Davenport
At the beginning of October, our team took a trip to Davenport, Iowa to explore the city and learn about the foundations of chiropractic care. We ate at all the local favorites, laughed throughout many rounds of word games and karaoke, and learned about the amazing history of this profession.
Did you know that the first chiropractic adjustment took place in Davenport in 1895? Daniel Palmer adjusted a partially deaf janitor named Harvey Lillard. While working in a cramped area 17 years prior, Lillard recalled hearing a "pop" in his back. He immediately started having difficulty hearing.
After one adjustment from Palmer, he started hearing the "racket in the streets." After two adjustments, his hearing difficulty was almost completely reversed. Although this profession has progressed and changed a lot since the 19th century, its beginning inspires us and reinforces our vision: To see all human’s living life at their true, God-given potential.
Meet Lauren
I grew up in Norwalk, Iowa. I just recently graduated from the University of Iowa and moved back to the Des Moines area to pursue a career in the healthcare field. I am passionate about educating new practice members and grateful to be on this team! In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, shopping and attending Hawkeye games.
As a Practice Representative, you'll find Lauren out and about in our community sharing about our neurologically based care! Be sure to say hello on your next visit!
